Sounds just like military medicine, which just gets worse as a retiree. Why we have a "concierge" Doc. We pay him a cash fee monthly and have all the access anyone could ever want. Anything we need a text, email, or call gets it handled. When we see him we get an hour block of time and spend as much time talking sports and families as we do medical issues. We of course have TONS of insurance. Military and private but we prefer to use him as its a better experience for everyone. I don't even use insurance for most tests, its amazing how cheap some stuff can be in the medical field if you pay cash.
