The lash needed to be right at about zero cold so it would open up to .006 to .008 hot. I was concerned about hanging a valve open, so I set them at about .001 to .0015 cold. If you're building the engine, just put a tight lash solid roller in it.


I agree, I wouldn't build an engine that way for a daily driver or even a regular driver. Tim's car was about 95% race car.
This is 95% race car an occasional cruise night car. Just trying to get parts together b/4 they dry up.
