So looking at these heads, it seems that the exhaust springs only have a damper spring in them, none on the intake. Is that normal? Thanks.

Dunno. Whats it look like? That round thing under the retainer?

the valve on the left side of the pic has the rotator usually on the exhaust valve from my experience.
