Believe me...if you hit that padding hard enough to really hurt yourself you would do the same thing in a regular car... I did TONS of impact studies at Chrysler to get a GOOD idea what it takes to be hurt.... I'll take my chances with the padding and no helmet... I'd rather have the bars to protect me
