My old 383 Dart. This was my Dart before my son bought it and I had a mild 383 in it. It was a stock 1970 shortblock that I cut the 452 heads and decked the block to get a true 9.5 comp. It was stock pistons in the stock bore. I used the MP .484 cam and stock valvetrain including stock rockers. Had Comp single springs on the 452 heads and we did some mild pocket porting on the heads. I had the Performer RPM intake and a 750 DP. CPPA 2" headers and we used a stock dist I recurved. It had a Turbo Action 10" tight 3000 converter and a RMVB. Had an 8-3/4 with 3.91's and used McCreary G/60-15's which hooked good on that car. It weighed just over 3500 with me in it and ran a best of 12.31 @ 110. I was very pleased how well that car ran with that so mild 383. It now belongs to my son and has a .030 over 400 (406) in it and has run 11.40's. Ya cant tell me 383's dont run good. Ron
