I went high 11s w/ a VERY mild 440 combo.

3700# '70 cuda w/ SS springs, 3.91 gear, and 26x10 slicks. Full interior, full 3" exhaust w/ tailpipes and factory cuda tips.

'71 440 HP shortblock, bored .040" over. Ross flattop pistons (close to 10:1 compression). Factory forged crank and the original 6 pack rods. Stock oiling system w/ factory pan.
906 heads...nothing but a 3 angle valve job. Even reused the factory valves...NO porting.
509/292 MP purpleshaft cam, stock rockers and pushrods.
Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, 830 holley double pumper.
1 7/8" headers, 3" exhaust w/ 2 chamber flowmasters.
727 w/ a TCI 10" Streetfighter 3500 stall.

This combo ran on pump gas and went 11.80s at 112 mph, 7.50s in the 1/8, 1.67-1.69 sixty foots. Not to mention I put a LOT of street miles on it.

This motor is currently in my dad's '69 road runner only now it has a six pack setup on it, a 4 speed, and 3.55 gears. Hella fun to drive!
