That is what I chose to do. I picked up the msd pump from summit. It was just at 100 bucks. I mounted mine at the frame rail as well. Big loop up and over to avoid the exhaust. The catch of course is that you now need a regulator, and most regulators that go as high as 50 psi need a return line. I used the stock fuel line as my return and used efi rubber line as my new fuel line.
