I have a 971 with a 7" sump my Boss brought to work for me to try. I think it is the same pan I have on there now. Im going to take some measurements tonight and see where im at.
It's going to be similar to the one in there, anything deeper than 5" is going to hang below the K .
What block do you have MP or a WORLD ?
A member here had a pan that hung only a 1/2" tops below his K member in an A body with a big block , he was driving on the freeway where they had milled the surface prepping to repave, he came to a bridge and there was a a small ramp they paved to lessen the shock of the surface change and he still ripped a hole in his pan doing about 50 or so.
