Me and the wife were heading out to a car show in Holley Mi yesterday in the 65. I was a bit hung over from the wedding reception we had attended the night before. Literally cot in the Park and were about a 1/4 mile from the show and she runs over what amounts to a speed bump and rips a hole in the oil pan!
I new as soon as it hit the 8 qt pan was done so we shut her down right away so no engine damage but what a drag.
Now I am planning on using a 6qt pan from Mancini as long as it will fit.
The pan hung down dangerously low with the 8qt and I don't want the worries.
I had to cut a piece of the lip off the k member on the passenger side for pan clearance when we installed the motor originally.
Anyone have any suggestions for what pan works well in a 1965 Coronet 500 with a 426 Hemi?
