Hey , off topic question I know but what would you suggest painting calipers with? I have 1st gen Viper calipers that I'd like to repaint red. Any suggestions?
I checked with our painter today. He was prepping a set of Porsche calipers for paint. He acid washes the parts then goes over them again with thinner. Once that's done, he shoots them with regular automotive paint and two coats of clear. After that dries he'll apply the Porsche, Mercedes, AMG, Maserati, or whatever brand decal.
They come out looking very nice. Large aluminum calipers really don't have a problem with burning the paint. They simply don't get that hot.
Thanks for the tips! After the decal is applied does he do another clear coat?
