I really don't think Nick does CNC porting I haven't been to the shop in about a year though and he adds new equipment all the time. It's usually just him and Bart with a die grinder and the flow bench Gus

NICE................ I`m going to ring out my rpm`s and go as quick as possible then step up to some max wedge anythings and see how much faster we can go. Should pick you up nicely w/the proper porting and valve job.

You could also have them hand ported instead of a one size fits all cnc port job. I know cnc is the trend nowadays but just something to think about...!

Thanks!I was thinking more on the hand porting and that is from a cost factor for now.

Are those CFM measurements at .100 to .800 valve lift?

I was curious as to which numbers meant which numbers I'm assuming the second row is thw adapter use to flow at those numbers and the second line is the results in CFM, yes? Also what are the top numbers ?

Clanton, So you are Boosting the motor? Try to raise the mid to upper lifts, the intake needs volume more than raw CFM and great exhaust efficiency is also important; that's what makes the Indy-1 with it's big Intake port and excellent raised exhaust a real natural for blower apps. You want to improve the exhaust to intake bias % since getting air IN is not an issue with boost, and for the powerband you're looking at...you don't want or need a ton of RPM since your torque band is going to be EPIC and roots blower efficency drops (heat) and tends to act as a big brake on the crank past its designed flow rate. Good heads and a relatively slow blower ratio really works great....if you get the cam and timing right it's almost unbeatable and VERY RELIABLE. I have the Chaoman stage VI's and the most impressive/important numbers are the mid lifts. Basically if you get your .400-.500 OOTB lift numbers to where your OOTB .500-.600 numbers are now and IMO you're all set. beyond that with the blower you just let the peak fall where they may beyond that. Cam selection will be critical, how big is the blower and what CID and static CR are you at. JE makes a nice blower/nitrous dish design. Run as long a rod as possible

I guess I have been bored so I have been using the wallace calcs.Port speed will be 256 FPS[corrected] and the max velocity for that port csa/3.14 is 542fps at 6800 rpm.The gained cfm over my as working engine will be 70cfm with a hp rating anywhere from 1.4/2.0 hp per cfm N/A.The tune may change as far as fuel, timing but we will see.

I am excited just to have finely got some aluminum heads.
I know the feeling, I was porting my own iron heads for years until 4 years ago when I scored some ported Indy SR's. Since then I've bought 2 sets of B1's, a set of Brad Anderson Hemi heads and I don't even have a hemi, and a chinese set of Victor copies.

I made it tough on Scott to make more cfm by limiting the port. The bowl, port, valve job needed done so I did what I could. The bigger change in those flow# is I did have 280int/180exh cfm and now the victor flow.

That is crazy isn't it. I started racing in the 70's and never had a set of aluminum heads till I was going thru a divorce in 1990. I bought a set of B1Bs heads and have been going strong ever since. Here's a small list. 1 set B1Bs 3 sets B1's 2 sets 440-1's 2 set 440source 12 sets small block edelbrock.
I keep saying it but these are GREAT times for us MOPAR racers.
Yep and with the price of machine work going up you might as well buy a new set of heads and just get whatever valve/spring combination you need for only a few bucks more. It's funny though, head prices are coming down but rocker arms (good ones) are going up.

Well my headers fit just as good as the iron heads,my valve to piston without the .090 head gasket is .450 and the center of the int valve[.110] is .130 to the valve relief edge, the pushrod needs more clearence on the head by .100 tested at max lift with a std rocker and measuring to the perch where it runs on the iron head and subtracting the added .400 offset on the hs rocker they make for the victor head.
