I have searched (because I know this has been requested before) but can not find the thread or photo.

I have basically completed the Dash Resto of my 70 Challenger and I am doing the final check to make sure that I have everything routed and positioned correctly. I would appreciate if someone could post a full photo of the back side for reference.

Thank you..I would appreciate it.

Joe

Here's a partial pic that comes up occasionally... Now all you need is a pic of the left side...

Thanks. Now, I know that 1/2 of what I have is right.

The previous owner added the "c. light" group to the car. I found some suspect spots that harness and am not going to use it. I am going to use the glovebox light though. Can it go into the same orange feed that feeds the gauge lights and the cigarette lighter bulb or should it plug in elsewhere? Based on the photo above it looks like it may go into the 3 way pink plug.

Thanks, Joe

The information you need is in the factory service manual.
This is for a 70 Barracuda and is from the 70 Plymouth Service Manual.

Thanks Snoopy. Those were helpful. I think I have everything correct. Didn't see the glove box light wiring and I don't have it in any of my stuff. That is the only thing I'm not sure about.

In the pix above it shows the 'key in' buzzer but it also lists it as a 'headlight on' relay. Did E bodys have a headlight on buzzer for when you leave the lights on and open the door? I know my 70 Challenger does not. AMHIK.

It was part of the A01 option package.
If your fender tag doesn't list A01, it's not used.

What paint did you wind up using on the dash frame. glove box lid, and ashttray lid? Knew you were having issues at the time.

Cool, so if you install the A01 wire harness you get the headlight buzzer? I just picked one up on e-gag. I know I'm thread hijacking, sorry, but I can't count the number of times I've left the lights on and killed the battery.

Snoopy, for some reason the last PDF attachments will not download. The first 2 you did downloaded fine.

I used the Textured Paint as mentioned in the other thread. It looks very nice but is not perfect. There is a a little more texture than should be. If I were to do it again, I would knock it down a little more and use a Satin Black over the top. Best solution would be to use Prof Spray gun and correct paint. I just don't have those tools or skills. For a car that will be a VERY NICE occasional driver, it is fine.

Joe,
I just tried them and they work. Try right clicking on the attachment and either save target or print target.

I tried save target and get error messages when I try to open them. Maybe it's an acrobat version problem. I'll have to look into it further I guess.

Thanks, Joe

You may need Adobe Reader 7 or higher to view.
Adobe Reader 9
If you don't want the Google Toolbar, make sure you uncheck it.

Joe,
I'm glad to see your working hard. My car finally made it to the body shop. Hopefully I will be reassembling this winter.

Any pictures of how the dash is turning out???

Tom

Hey Tom!

Yes, I'm getting some things done and it's good therapy and stress relief. It has been a hard spring/summer with our infant. She will not eat or drink and the Dr.s do not know why and are baffled. Healthy and normal in every way but just wont' eat or drink. Since late April, she has to have her feedings via feeding tube so that she will maintain her weight. She is being sent to Vanderilt shortly to see if they can figure out what the problem might be.

The dash is facing a wall so that I can finish up the wiring so it's hard to get a photo of the front right now. Here is a photo that I took a week or two ago of it before it had the speakers mounted, lower trim and glovebox installed.

I hope to start on the Heaterbox resto this weekend.

Can't wait to see your project...I need some pics for motivation buddy.

Joe

Joe,
Sorry to hear that your daughter is having problems. I was hoping that all is well. Hopefully the specialist will find something, then get her on to the road to recovery! I'll will keep her in my prayers.

On a lighter note, I know what you mean about restoration being good for your own state of mind. I do it all the time

Your dash looks great! I'll post a pic of mine.......
