Doug,

I have used 2 sets of US Strange gear 4.30. Both sets broke in 200 passes. Like clock work. The first set broke a few teeth off on the pinion. The second set just heard the clicking while coasting, I parked it, pulled rear end, no teeth were broke or cracked. Seemed like one or two teeth on the pinion were possibly bent because you could feel the bind when turning the driveshaft by hand, then freeing up, however no cracks were found. I went back to Richmond 4.56 gear and am hoping to get more than 200 passes out of them as my original richmond gear had a lot of runs on it. The last I checked, nitro gear still offers a 4.30 pro gear, a little bit more pricey, but they may hold up better. I personally am staying away from the 4.30 gear. From what I gathered about the 4.30 strange US gear, we basically chalked it up to inferior metal.
