If you look at the picture I posted above with an NOS air cleaner and filter on top you will see it looks nothing like a K&N. It is a typical paper element of the era and no, K&N will not manufacture one, we tried several years ago...

the filter pictured appears as though it may be an original or at least that is close to what they looked like.
And K&N likely makes a filter that would fit without modifying as they are quite flexible and are what we used on a couple of one offs I've made
The above comment / suggestion was made as by measuring the ID and OD of our lids/ plates we were able to find a few "ROUND" K&N filters that easily conformed to the oval shape needed due to their flexibility.
