lever moved in correct direction, but far from full back Therein is your problem. Until you correct this your tranny is not going to function correctly. Driving it just increases your chances of damaging it. Hopefully you haven't already. Change the mounting point on the carb to a position further away from the shaft (more movement) or move the attaching point on the trans to a position closer to the shaft (less movement) or a combination of both.
