Exile, don't get upset, this is just the nature of forums and different opinions. What your actual compression is is critical to making these decisions . You have picked a cam and intake that will make for a high torque street engine. You have very good heads that would be even better with more cam, a Performer rpm intake, 1-7/8" headers and then an 850 carb might be warranted. You really have not stated your goals for this build which makes it hard to make recomendations. When I made the remark about a slug, the engine won't likely be, but with an 850 double pumper on such a mild combo I believe you would be seriously overcarbed which would lead to poor drivability, throttle response and fuel mileage if that counts. I stand by my carb recommendation as your build stands right now. Also, what converter and gear ratio are you planning on running as they all have to work together.
