I had the leakdown tester hooked up with pressure going into the cylinder. rockers off, so valves were closed, and even cranking the engine over, I only got a bit of pressure, maybe 20 psi if I was lucky, and it bled off right away.
I ordered some 1" thick plexiglass, that I am going to drill for the head bolt pattern and then drill tap the center for a 14mm sparkplug hole to hook up the leakdown tester. That way I can pressure check both the block and head independently, and also see inside.
I did that exact think with plexiglass
