Funny story from 60 years ago?
The NHRA is setting up the mfg. advertised power/weight ratios to break the classes.
They all look like 14.00-14.99, or 12.50-12.99 (full second or half second interval), except one, which is (IIRC) 12.69?
Why?
Two buddies on the committee had the same SBC engine, same year, but one had a post car and one had a hardtop. They split the weight break so they didn't have to race each other and each could get a trophy.
