If you buy GOOD roller lifters and use good (correct) springs, you shouldn't have any problems. My set of Isky Red Zone solid rollers were new in 2006. I've sent them back to Isky twice since then for inspection and they have not needed anything.

I'd go w/ a solid roller...no doubt about it.
