In all honesty , building a 727 for 1000HP is not a real big challenge to any good transmission builder. With the parts available today and being able to use production ratios , the trans can be built for a reasonable cash layout and be very reliable. If altered ratios are required , the choices become somewhat limited but not to say it can't be done. Due to the height restrictions , the 727 does have limited converter selections. Those selections can be increased but a trans to block spacer would be required as the HP numbers increase much above the 1000hp mark.

The T400 and the powerglide are also good choices but if you are set in your ways, they may not be your first choice.
