i doubt he is, just relating what he did.

i have no problems putting another pickup in there and carrying on. i may use the milodon pickup that i got in vegas as opposed to the stock replacement though. i still haven't got to it, but i suspect i'll see some marks on the bottom inside of my pan, showing that when the engine fell/dropped onto the pan it tweaked the pickup a bit, and just took this much time to do its thing.
