You might see if you can jamb a cheap HF NPT tap up there & get it to bite CCW into the piece
Actually this could make things worse ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eeek.gif) I once broke off a steel stud in the upper aluminum crankcase of a Honda CL360 motor (dissimilar metals) I got the stud out and while cleaning the threads with a bottoming tap, broke the tap in the hole ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/flame.gif) Taps are very hard and it took hours of delicate grinding to get it out. I then had to tap the hole larger and put in an insert. You don't have enough room in the hole to go oversize before you ruin the block ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eeek.gif)
