I would try setting them warm, as a last resort I like and use the method of setting the valves by turning the motor over on the starter with one valve cover off until the exhaust valves starts to open and then set the preload on the intake rocker arm, I then bump the starter over until the intake valve opens all the way and starts to close a tiny little bit and then set the exhaust preload, same thing on the valve lash I usally do one side and then button that side up and run the motor some more to warm it back up and then do the other side I don't like or use the Mopar, Chevy charts
