How are you adjsuting them, hot or cold? Are the heads aluminum ot iron? If aluminum make sure and set the preload hot   I run a Comp Cams XE295HL cam and lifters in one of my 440 with Eddy RPM heads and Harland Sharp 1.5 rockers, nothing noisy in the valve train on it
