Swapping valve bodies won't do much good if there's no mechanical governor. The RE isn't a good choice for a retrofit.
He said he wanted a manual VB, the factory one will not shift manually just by leaving it unplugged. I suppose someone out there has a kit to modify the factory RE style VB into a manual shift but I have not seen one only a new VB for that.
