Hi tom, yes the ammeter has continuity. trace the black wire downstream & see if you can find the open. do you have fire at the fuse box? Everything (almost) is hot so be careful what you bump/touch. What I do is take off a batt cable & put an inline fuse holder in series w a 20 amp fuse for protection (& a tin of 5 fuses)
