The reason the throttle response is better is because that with one big blade, when you open that carb versus a regular carb the same amount, the SV-1 is letting a lot more air in.........You could do the same with a progressive linkage on a regular 4 barrel.........Just set it up to where the carb opens a lot with very little throttle cable movement...... There's NO WAY that carb will make your motor make more vacuum.........Vacuum is what it is.......
If you can't handle the truth, you're living a lie.......

the wording was "better" not "more". a poorly tuned carb at idle in gear will yield less vacuum then a well tuned one.

You guys outta change over to a flying toilet if you like throttle response...there is nothing that can even compare a alky injection setup.. Reason I say this that you can pickup a toilet setup for the price of the SV1

The Pro Systems dominator I have on my hemi cost $1000. I was quoted $1150 for a custom SV1.
I think the jury is still out as to just how much better the SV1 is than a regular dominator. Glad I waited to see some results before buying one myself. I'll be sticking with my current carb for now.

FWIW from a GM guy, the engine builders I've dealt with in this part of the world have nothing but love for these things...my dad watched them dyno an engine with an SV-1, and the engine guy told him a simple carb swap from his worked Dominator picked up 25hp...

This is what I keep reading and i doubt that Jon Kaase and David Reher are wrong on what the have seen and used.
