All we heard is that this carb was the next best thing to sliced bread a few months ago. I have not heard I thing about it since. Anybody try it yet? Results?

it's still realitively new and it's an expensive piece. not many people in the general public have the cash to shell out for it. the two people i know that have used it have noticed better throttle response, idle, vacuum and a little more mph. neither can really say if it was the carb. or if the other carb not tuned properly. the added expense wasn't really justified but did notice an increase over their existing carbs. might be a bigger increase in a different type of application then either one of them were using it for. ie: pump gas,540 cid and 512 cid. might be better for a bigger cid, higher compression, etc.

The reason the throttle response is better is because that with one big blade, when you open that carb versus a regular carb the same amount, the SV-1 is letting a lot more air in.........You could do the same with a progressive linkage on a regular 4 barrel.........Just set it up to where the carb opens a lot with very little throttle cable movement......

There's NO WAY that carb will make your motor make more vacuum.........Vacuum is what it is.......

Kinda like putting a gear drive and extra set of squirters on the old 950 3 barrel I know, I'm dating myself

the wording was "better" not "more". a poorly tuned carb at idle in gear will yield less vacuum then a well tuned one.

When I Talked to Patrick at pro systems he said the SV1 was designed for power levels over 700 HP. That takes alot of people out of it. He did mention alot of interest for lower powered applications and he is looking into that.

You guys outta change over to a flying toilet if you like throttle response...there is nothing that can even compare a alky injection setup..
Reason I say this that you can pickup a toilet setup for the price of the SV1

I'm using a 4150 1050 race demon & was thinking of playing around with a custom domy. $1125 would not be out of the ordinary to pay for a custom dominator. Thanks for the onfo

The Pro Systems dominator I have on my hemi cost $1000.
I was quoted $1150 for a custom SV1.

I think the jury is still out as to just how much better the SV1 is than a regular dominator. Glad I waited to see some results before buying one myself. I'll be sticking with my current carb for now.

Well i have been waiting for more folks to comment on the SV-1 but it seems the cost for most is the factor, which even Patrick points out in his writting.I for one think the design is perfect for me as a foot-brake car due to the quicker response and Iam not a professional tuner so I cant get a dominator to respond as fast as the SV1.I have looked at the toilet but for me its alot more to add on a simple car.My partner and i are going E-85 due to its here now and makes sence and due to I have a 1050 Holley now and would have to change it over for E85 plus the fact I wanted more CFM anyway and its pretty

FWIW from a GM guy, the engine builders I've dealt with in this part of the world have nothing but love for these things...my dad watched them dyno an engine with an SV-1, and the engine guy told him a simple carb swap from his worked Dominator picked up 25hp...
