I don't think the rod side clearance is a problem. FWIW, my 511 has 0.021"

I really hate to see that kind of damage. Especially after the other bad luck, and all the care you put into that engine. Major damage is costly.

From the pics, it looked like #3 rod to me, not #4 like the other guy posted. #3 piston looks turned in the bore, i.e. connecting rod "disconnected". And #3 piston is near the top of the bore, while the crank journal is near the bottom.
