I 2nd this, I've had the same issue with my MSD 6. The polarity of the wires from the dist must be right for some units to work... If you reverse the wires it will change timing as much as 30 degrees. One direction the wires give a reading off the front of the reluctor and the other way it reads off the back of the reluctor as it goes by. Guess how I know this?
