Have you looked into 80s Truck tie-rods and sleeves? IIRC they changed in about '79 or '80. They are quite a bit longer than the 70s sleeves, not short like the ones you have now. I discovered this difference when I was tie-rod swapping on an '81 I used to have.

Have you got a referance for a stock-height truck yet? If not my '88 shorty is sitting stock right now. It has a Wee six though but it shouldnt make that much difference, though it may sit a bit higher. My tires in the pic are 235/70/16s, 29 inches tall.
