Not so desirable for handling, but in this case 'very welcome' when you want to install wider than stock tires and dealing with wheels that are only available in fixed backspacing/offsets.

The Michelin's (or any other good Brand-name tire) were a welcome upgrade to the BFG's I used to use years ago.
I usually buy my tires 'used' in pairs from the local classifieds, as long as they have enough profile to be run a few years.

I'd love to run wider tires under the car, albeit mainly just for looks, but I also know things can good bad quickly with wet roads and wide tires.

Once again, thanks for the insights here.

I've heard of Cordoba brake swaps onto A-Bodies...but you went with the C-Body brakes. Are those bigger than Cordoba brakes? Did the C-Body caliper brackets drop right on? Did you lose tie rod adjustment or reduce any other alignment flexibility with the new geometry?

I hear you on the benefits of narrowing the track width (for the sake of tire fitment) so I'm really interested in this.
