I spent 5 days a week in body shops for 20+ years. I know what all of the pitfalls are, and how to avoid them, and who to avoid. I have met every flake and tweaker and job hopper and crook in the industry that you can possibly imagine. If we restore this car, I know what I'm in for, and I know what surprises may be lurking, and I know those surprises cost money. My wife loves the car. We can afford to spend the money on it. That appears to either bother some of you, or concern some of you, or annoy some of you. I have no idea why. It's not difficult to understand, or at least, it shouldn't be.
Peace brother, sounds like you have it handled and know the pitfalls. It bothers nobody on here that you love your car, just trying to help. I question why you want a shop recommendation if you know all this and every bad person in the industry, could you point me to a shop? 40 grand will not do what you want in a $50 an hour shop in my opinion. Again just trying to help.
