FYI... this is another sure option although not practical for the home mechanic I realize. Just wanted to make sure you knew about a tool like this. It expands when you screw it together and locks tight behind the bushing or bearing. Yes you have to have the correct size as they have different ones for different size bushings. this one fits a nice range of bushings, not just one size. I have 3 of these.

It screws onto a puller or a 5/8 fine thread slide hammer for faster service.
I have used them to rebuild roper truck pumps and many other little jobs like yours.
