Finally back on the road. Pressure plate died. Throwout brg was ok, clutch plate and flywheel looked great. Bought a heavy duty single disc Southbend setup that has a lot more clamp than the stock setup did. Engagement is smooth, pedal effort is definitely higher than stock, but I will get used to it. Entire clutch kit was little over $1200 and install was $457 at my local dealer.
Getting away from the stock dual mass setup, I was concerned about trans/gear noise that some after market clutch users report. Only thing I noticed during my 25 mile ride home was when/if you lugged the motor below 1000rpm, you can definitely hear the gear rattle in the trans. Hope to get more than 69k miles out of this one.
No complaints with my dealer's service dept, was expecting more than a $457 bill, and they seemed to have no problem installing non-chrysler parts that I brought to them.
