I'm running a 518 in the Rampage... I changed the input
shaft and pump to use a standard hi stall conv.. I
dont have lock up that way... its behind a 550 hp 418ci...
love the OD... cuts the revs down nicely with 4.10
gears





any truth to the claim that SMR makes that the A500/518 is sucking enough power to slow you down 1.5 seconds?

I cant say yet.. I havent been to the track to see
what this will do... the trans is heavy... maybe 40#
heavier than a 727 but as a feel of the pants I
dont see it dumping 1.5 seconds
EDIT
the rear OD drum and clutch pack is stopped like they
said but its not all that much weight due to it being
fairly close to the centerline... but its gonna eat
some power but I'm not buying their sales pitch
of 1.5.. if you look at their kit thats also with
a torque conv.. so thats not apples to apples
