While I was getting the lengths of my engine supports correct, I lowered the tranny down too much and I had no support under the tranny or the engine. The tranny/engine just hung there with only the engine mounts. I only did this for a couple of minutes and then I put the supports under the pan flange.

I then wondered what it would hurt if there were no supports under the engine once the tranny was off. I assumed that the engine would have pivoted farther down than it did and this surprised me.
My concern is that the tranny will be at the shop for a few weeks and I did not want the engine just hanging there while I was doing some other cleanup work under the car.
