I turned wrenches professionally for over twenty years, supported the engine a few times cause I was told I had to... Fought the job because the trans wouldn't drop out easily due to interference with the tunnel... Tried not supporting the engine & I've done it that way ever since... Wheres it gonna go? the engine's weight is nearly balanced on the mounts, when the trans is attached the tranny jack should be supporting it.. & if your worried about it falling out the drag link prevents that...
