the one in my B&M manual kit is 2.952 long. it's a solid rod, and if i ever use this kit, i will make a new rod out of tubing. i can't tell you what the TransGo rod length is, as it's in my car at present. ![beer beer](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/custom/beer.gif)

Either of those lengths will work as long as it's not too long to keep the VB from seating.

With the spring removed, the accumulator still fully functions on the 1-2 upshift. Only way to stop its function is a blocker rod.

My apologies for hijacking the post, but lets say you were building a case from scratch, am I right in thinking that you could scrap the accumulator circuit/system entirely if you were running a manual valve body?? ??

Many race valve bodies eliminate the accumulator with the goal of the firmest 1-2 upshift but doing so can lead to rear clutch failure. Ya pays your dime and ya takes your chances.

Either of those lengths will work as long as it's not too long to keep the VB from seating. Good point. As I recall, the Griner valve body needed a shorter blocker rod than the standard factory VB. But I don't think it uses that circuit anyway.

After asking a number of questions here on this topic years(?) ago, I decided to use these parts when I had the valve body off before my trans went in w/ the engine: https://www.sonnax.com/parts/1851-accumulator-piston-kithttps://www.ctpowertrain.com/sonnax-new-hd-enhanced-performance-valve-body-accumulator-spring/

First time I've heard that ! will leaving the accumulator piston in cause any problems? Not a problem unless it has a blocker that is to long and it holds the valve body up causing a leak. All Griner valve bodies are this way. The accumulator does nothing. The only exception is if it has the modification to get a line pressure from the accumulator port. Like the Pro Flite. Keith
