I bought a set of. .810 bars from MP a couple weeks ago, supposedly the last pair in the system. Got a quote on them on Wednesday, called to get them the following Monday and MP had raised the price $100. Lucky for me my dealer honored his quoted price.

Bought the MP oil pump primer today. Cost all of $8. 😀

The Ma Mopar/Chrysler Corp we all fondly reminisce about doesn't exist anymore and hasn't for a long time. Face it, we're no different than the Studebaker and Hudson guys.

If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.

I bought a set of MP 4.500 bore by 4.500 stroke forged pistons for $225. Last set available.

I ran a NEW set of viper rods and balanced them

I know, didn't want anyone cutting their wrist, so I left that out lol.

Fiat really did a business move by ditching the grassroots Guy altogether and just wrapped up the entire MP catalog up in one purchase, the Hellcat or the ACR.

I left the Mopar dealer in 2011 and even before I left I could get SS springs cheaper from Mancini then at my dealer with my discounted price. I hardly ever bought anything from my dealer because Mancini or my local speed shop was cheaper. It seems most of the parts we buy for 440's and 340's today are aftermarket most of the time. Heck my mild 440/493 is a 440Source bottom end and Indy EZ heads and Indy dual plane intake with a Holley 850 Carb. Not many of us even low buck guys run the older Mopar iron heads today. Most Mopar muscle cars today roaming the streets and tracks dont use many factory parts other then the block. I guess its only the ones who restore cars to original like the numbers matching guys who use alot of the factory Mopar parts anymore. The fact is the after market makes most of the parts for our cars today that are of better quality since they have 50 years of technology upgrades they build in the aftermarket parts today. I mean how many of you know anyone with a Mopar hotrod that still runs the older factory iron heads ?? Probably not many. Ron

Many years ago a local now closed speed shop used to sponsor me and I had him order me some Dirrect Connection brush on intake gasket sealer from Ed Hamburger. The owner a Ford guy placed the order and when it came in he looked at it and peeled the label off and it was made by Ford Motor Company. He walked back to a shelf in the shop and showed me 6 cans of it he had sitting on a shelf. He still laughs about that.

What should that catalog be filled with? Overpriced stuff for a 58 year old engine design, that you can buy cheaper anywhere else? Parts for an engine they haven't made since '78?
Orange ignition boxes?
With the aftermarket there is no need for that catalog to be filled with out dated stuff.
How many new challengers chargers darts 300s etc show up to major Mopar shows?
That's what the company is building now, that's what they should market parts for.
If you want something for your musclecar, summit and jegs are a click away, and cheaper than that catalog.

Amen. Well said.
