I'm surprised they even put out any catalog anymore... they have all 4 parts now days... 2 decals and a chrome dipstick... it might be 3 decals to make up the 4 parts...its disgusting

All the stuff was rebranded stff anyway with 30% added to the cost !!! Really, what did Chrysler ever make besides the super stock springs ?!?!?! It was a long time ago when they made the SS springs they job out everything... I use to see who made what when I was working at CTC and I seen the price the company paid and what it sold for... glad I got 25% off of it

I used to buy solid Dusters here in North Carolina for a few hundo and take them to the yankee shows and sell them for $2k--thought I was a smart trader
Paid a lot of bills that way Now if I had just one of those Dusters left I would.........no wait! I would not because all that stuff got famous and is waaay too high $$ Took all the fun out of it!

Its no wonder so many are going to the dark side. My next build is gonna be a gen 3... maybe 2 of them.. I want to pull the 440 out of my 38 ply and put in a gen 3 with a 518 with a lock up conv.. it will be the wifes ride.. might even get a turbo on it... all my LA stuff is getting tired.. and basically running out of blocks.. if I break my 416 a gen 3 is going in

People need to get with the times and move away from .509 cams and 906 heads.
What should that catalog be filled with? Overpriced stuff for a 58 year old engine design, that you can buy cheaper anywhere else? Parts for an engine they haven't made since '78?
Orange ignition boxes?
With the aftermarket there is no need for that catalog to be filled with out dated stuff.
How many new challengers chargers darts 300s etc show up to major Mopar shows?
That's what the company is building now, that's what they should market parts for.
If you want something for your musclecar, summit and jegs are a click away, and cheaper than that catalog.

All Mopar Performance had to do was hire someone like me and they would have a catalog full of performance parts. I crank out a new design every month on average and I only spend a little bit of my time on R&D. There are literally hundreds of parts that Mopar Performance could be making money on if they had anyone working there who knew how to design new parts.

I wonder if this a just a "cave in" on the EPA new performance parts interpretation ?

You need to know how to shop. Parts that aren't in the catalogue are sometimes seriously discounted when they finally want to get rid of them. When one of my co workers was rebuilding his 5.9 Magnum engine, we found Gen II Viper rod/piston assemblies with rings and bearings for $32.00 each. Same rod as Magnum, flat top, no eyebrow pistons, which made it slightly higher compression than Magnum piston. Works fine. Still running today. I bought a set of MP 4.500 bore by 4.500 stroke forged pistons for $225. Last set available.

Any corporation the size of Mopar would consider the market for your stuff to be too small Andy. It's great for you and shops like Mancini's but the reality is it would cost Chrysler more to administer than they could ever hope to make. I think the catalog is more of a "guide" as to what to use or what you can do - performance or appearance-wise. But if you're foolish enough to buy from Chrysler then you deserve to pay 30% more than retail. You need look no further than Mancini's. Virtually every "Mopar" performance part has a Mancini equivalent at significantly less money.
