Reason being i have some issues on the deck and shaving would clear it up, then i would just add a spacer to get back to stock height. Any thoughts anyone? I would probably use head studs if I could since you have less head threads. Unless you are married to this block I would look for another. 2011 Drag Pak Challenger

B G Racing master Joined: Mar 2006 Posts: 9,910 Eighty Four, PA	We use to shave .200+ years ago when piston choise was limited.We have saved many of the blocks from those days by using spacers and steel shim head gaskets.If your not going to cut more than .120 you can always get a custom MLS gasket to bring the deck back to spec. Bob you said steel shim under the spacer, would copper work over and under better? I could cut the copper flush to the spacer, rings are lower so no interferance just don't want any gaps. Should i drill and tap the bolt holes deeper, i'm using studs?

I've been trying to think of different ways of fixing the problem without making new problems. Some previous owner went wild with a grinder creating a chamfer for the intake valve that got real close to a push rod hole(all eight) was pondering welding but what can of worms will that open up so milling just enough to take the chamfer out some seems the easiest way. If i had a couple of 3500 hundred dollar bills laying around i could buy a better block then throw all what i got away and start over, so i'm trying to fix what i got, once.
