Honestly, do you think everyone that runs a roller bushes the block?

My guess is that the ol' 80-20 rule applies ... 80% of race motors have the block bushed, 20% don't ... 80% of "street" motors DON'T have the block bushed, 20% do.

How much money ya got ?!?!? I think someone on here has a "special" on bushing blocks ... $500.+ PLUS shipping to and from Florida. At that price a Megablock starts looking like a reasonable alternative.

FWIW whether or not the lifters are "solid body" is not the determining factor. Other things come into play too, such as whether or not the lifter has oil holes for pushrod or roller oiling and where that hole is located. Also, you can run a lifter with an "oil band" as long as that oil band isn't exposed on either the base circle or at full lift.

The sad part about Cab's test is that you need to have the motor fully assembled to determine if you need to bush the bores. If you do then its damn near all the way back to square one !!

If it were me I wouldn't bush the bores and I'm at that stage with my motor now and I'm not (oil band lifters). Keeping my fingers crossed !!!
