I agree that it is not true. Once they're set up, they stay set up. I don't understand where the unreliabilty URBAN LEGEND comes from...



That urban legend really is based on fact, and now I'm going to explain where most of it comes from. Back in the day the gaskets were junk, if you let the carb sit the cork would shrink like crazy and dry out, carb wouldn't run right, fuel leaks all over. This was especially true with the common rebuild kits. Happened all the time. New good gaskets from Holley, like the no-stick blue ones last virtually forever and give almost no problems.
