If it is really a problem to remove I would try this, although it has been a while since I've gone to a NAPA or a mom or pop shop in a long time for press use but they normally charge very little ($15 or less) to pull and install bearings with their press. Otherwise carry it into a dealer and normally a tech can pull it off for you for a $10 or a $20 spot.

When making the cut with a cutoff wheel you do not have to make the cut perpendicular to the base of the race. You can cut a diagonal. A nick on the carrier should be ok just deburr it if you do.


Allen Here's a novel idea, let's not throw a bunch of parts at the car hoping it will fix the problem and instead spend a little time diagnosing it first. Life was a little easier when I was just a wrench.
