Mid 10K to a hair over 11K is fairly common. An acquanintance does a few of the GM engines that run currently, he's tested up to about 11400 rpm from memory. Haven't spoken to him in a little while though. The Mopar's don't turn quite as hard, but tended to make the most power of the three. Finding a good block for them is the bigest problem.


I don't think Ritter makes a block for the P5 heads. I wonder why? Are the lifters locations too different?

I understand he does make a block for the P7 heads.

If you sourced a block with a blank lifter valley, you could machine it for a P5 set up. That said, it is far too high in its deck height. Most are running their deck height in the 8.3-8.4" range. If a Mopar block could support even lower, you'd see deck heights at around 8.2" or lower.
