I"ve made heaps of nylon braided hose. I wrap the end with tape & then cut thru it with my battery 5" grinder with the thin cutoff wheel on it. Makes perfect ends, just have to blow out the rubber filings before you fit the hose ends.
Cutting the hose is easy. No worries there.
The hose consists of:
Inner PTFE hose.
Middle steel braid for structure.
Outer nylon braid for abrasion prevention.
Cutting the nylon back to install the fitting is the problem.
Mind you, this is an offcut I was playing with. The nylon is blasted out on this piece instead of the nicely taped and trimmed ends I used. The pic shows the type of hose I'm working with.
