I mean, what kind of special equipment came from the factory in '79 on a Slant? Nothing.

What year did the "super 6" with the 2bbl carb make its entrance?

II was seriously looking at buying a new 78 (or 79) Aspen RT, with it, a 318 4 bbl was an option, the biggest motor option was a 360, but it was a 2bbl carb. The single barrel slant 6 was the base line motor, with the Super ^ being the 1st option, followed by a 3118 2bbl, then the 318 4 bbl and the top of the line 360 2bbl. HP options from any car company back in those days was pretty limited. High gas prices and the insurance industry had the car companies in a strangle hold.
Fortunately, I decided against buying the Aspen RT, good thing too, about 3 months later I was unemployed!
