Anyone have a reasonable combo for a drive to the track, race and drive back? Was at the track on Sunday talking to and getting beat by factory cars running high 10's low 11's. I'd prefer to keep it as old school as possible Thanks Our old 528 combo did real well running a best of 10.006 @ 137 @ 3850lb. about 15 years ago. It was a 4.50 bore 4.15 stroke combo. Good heads (572-13) and 440-3x and a 1250 (ish) Pro Systems Dom. Solid Roller, Lift was around .720" IIRC. 4:10 gears. Drove it all over, work, shows and just for fun. Originally it ran 10.7's, It was really scienced out by the end, the converter / cam choice was the biggest gains followed by the manifold and carb. HTH's
