I disagree. I've never used type F in a non Ford trans. Just use Dexron, that is what it was designed to use. Type F was a bandaid for another Ford screwup. 4-5 quarts should be plenty. Agreed. Type F is among the worst for lubrication quality also. So, Ford transmissions are failing left and right from lack of lubrication? My anecdotal experience says otherwise. No they aren't but, put Dexron in a Ford transmission that requires type F and see what happens.
